Welcome to beautiful Bottineau County!
Northern North Dakota is known as the Four Seasons Playground for its long
list of activities that provide family fun all year long. Whether
you're looking for outdoor adventure, a safe and friendly neighborhood to
raise your children, or a quiet spot to retire, Bottineau County offers it
all. Winter brings snowmobiling,
cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, and ice fishing. In the summer, a
short drive to nearby lakes in the Turtle Mountains allows water recreation,
and the Souris River is a hot spot for fishing. Camping and golfing are
also popular activities. North Dakota's fall hunting is known throughout
the nation as hunters seeking whitetail deer, geese, ducks, moose, and
ruffed grouse. See our recreation page
for more information.
Our May through October season boasts
comfortable temperatures that seldom get into the 90s, while most nights
cool down into the 60s. Winters begins in November with temperatures that
may drop below 0, but those who venture outside for snowmobiling and skiing find a heavy jacket keeps the cold at bay. Check out our
home page for today's temperature and current
conditions!
Our economy is mostly based in agriculture,
and the people of Bottineau County exemplify high morals and outstanding
work ethic. The community is warm, friendly, and close-knit, and crime
is extremely low.
